
Over resent days I have been digging up new garden beds to make way for a row of olive trees, which I will create into an attractive edible hedge. While pulling out the ground cover I came across a couple hidden treasure.
The first, a Penny dated 1912, which is the second year of minting of this copper coin, apparently the pennies were in circulation from 1911 to 1960.
The second was a gold Omega watch with an inscription on the back “N.I.Worland, in recognition of 25 years of service with the Ford Motor Company of Australia Pty. Ltd. Oct 1959.

I know that they are no ancient relics like the ones you may come across in Europe, but in this countries short history, they are as good as…

Weird, yes; wonderful - No. I keep coming across pieces of cassette tape. Little pieces, ranging from a couple of inches to about 3 feet long, in the earth, in widely separated parts of my yard.
What accounts for it?
I’m in eastern US.

While farming my garden patch and shifting soil came across a diamond filagree ring.. cleaned it up and it is gorgeous. By the way congratulations on bringing backyard farming to your country. Your backyard farmer pioneered the way in 2006 in the USA.

I turned up a gorgeous old metal boot scraper in the shape of sausage dog, stuck under the fence in the rental house backyard I’ve been fixing up. He now sits proudly by the back door steps, nobly guarding the house from mucky feet
